A Chico ordinance moving that effort forward has been working its way through the process, and we had hoped to cross the finish line this Spring. That process - like so many others - is now on hold as we face this new coronavirus pandemic.
The efforts of our city, our citizens and our local organizations to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus clearly demand adjustments in our priorities. Caring for ourselves, each other, and our broader community are paramount. Non-essential activities, meetings, and events are being cancelled. We are being called upon to practice “social distancing” – a term we hadn’t really heard until recently. (If you don’t understand why this is absolutely necessary, this article explains.)
We all have questions. How will this affect us? How long will it last? What can we do to protect our families and our community? You can access the best, most current information available by visiting Butte County Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control.
We WILL get through these challenging times. And we’ll do it better, together. We are grateful to have you as part of the Chico’s BEST community.
Thanks again for checking in with us!
You'll be seeing and hearing more about Chico's BEST very soon.
